The natural environment of the Fitzgerald Biosphere is considered to be one of the riches places on earth for biodiversity and not surprisingly, recognised by UNESCO as the most important flora area in the world with around 2,500 plant species with 135 species endemic to the area and as yet, not all documented.

The core of the biosphere with the most significant ecosystem diversity is the Fitzgerald River National Park, which is one of the most botanically significant parks in Australia and where you will find 20% of Western Australia’s flora species. There are flowers in evidence all year round, however spring is the best time to view all of the region’s species which can be found in abundance.

The Fitzgerald River National Park is comparable to the Galapagos Island in terms of its conservation importance.
